Meet The Team

As a start-up we’re lucky to have a dedicated team who research and develop our tastings, curate bottles that best reflect our themes and present our tastings to you. Not really, we only have one staff member at the moment, but we’re using this page to introduce you to the three beasts who keep the couch + cork, llc offices a hub of activity and the amazing rescue organizations that brought them into our life.

Knuckles

Knuckles, Napper-in-Chief and #1 on the seniority list, oversees all couch + cork activities from his bed, frequently requesting pets. Knuckles was adopted from The Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, MI.

Bob Sacamano

Bob Sacamono is our red wine consultant. No, really. This cat will shove his nose into any and all reds. White, even a premium white, will make him leave. The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society in Menands, NY brought Bob into our lives.

Spreadsheet

Spreadsheet is the newest addition to our office and is our wellness coordinator. He makes sure we’re out of our chairs and out walking in the fresh air as often as his puppy bladder requires. Which is very often. Spreadsheet was brought into our lives by Pickens County Partners for Pets in Reform Alabama and their partner, P.E.T.S., LLC.

Why Rescue

Every year, in the United States, about 6.5 million pets are surrendered to animal shelters. Nearly a quarter of them are euthanized. Rescue and shelter adoptions prevent millions of unnecessary deaths.

Shelters in larger areas have a huge variety of animals of varying ages and sizes and in addition to this, online options like petfinder can make your dream cat or dog a reality. Knuckles came from the shelter where we lived and we adopted him with his age and history unknown. He was likely 18 months to two-years old. Our local shelter didn’t have any kittens when we were ready to adopt Bob after the humane, peaceful passing of our 18-year-old cat so we drove to a larger shelter outside of Albany, NY.

When it was time to tackle puppyhood Kris found Spreadsheet on petfinder and we adopted him as a puppy.

If you’re considering a pet, please check out your local and online options for adoption! Chances are you’ll find what you’re looking for.
